Dad Teaches Kids Basic Skills On YouTube Channel

Rob Kenney has founded a massively popular YouTube channel called “Dad, How Do I?” It's sole purpose is to show one how do do things that one would learn to do from a dad or other parent.
Kenney himself has a fairly heart-wrenching backstory with his own father. According to, at 14 years old, Rob had no idea where one would go when a father tells his eight children he doesn’t want them anymore.

Rob’s 23-year-old, newlywed brother took young Rob into his 8-by-35-foot mobile home. They lived in very close quarters, and Rob now sympathizes with his brother, who instantly became responsible for a moody teenager.

NOW, Rob and his wife of 29 years have two grown children who now live successful, well-adjusted lives. His daughter, Kristine, 27, earned a few degrees and certifications that help her work with kids. His son, Kyle, is working as a software engineer.

He said “My goal in my life was to raise good adults, I never wanted to be wealthy. I never wanted to be necessarily successful. My goal in life was to raise good adults... not good children but good adults...because I had a fractured childhood.”

Rob realized he still had a lot of wisdom to pass on to the younger generation so "Dad, How Do I" was born. He said “I want it to be about everyday tasks, but I also would like to pass along some of the wisdom I’ve learned along the way to encourage people,” he continued “… I thought I was just going to be showing people how to do stuff, but it’s kind of resonating on a whole different level.” His channel has over 1.4-million subscribers.

Here are a few of the videos.
