Reese's Snack Cakes Are Here to Make Your Mornings Sweeter

September 3, 2020

If you’re looking to shake-up your brunch routine, you’ll be happy to know that Reese’s is embracing the idea of eating candy for breakfast.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get better than peanut butter cups, the candy brand revealed its latest creation -- Reese’s Snack Cakes.

According to a press release, they are meant to be a “mid-morning cake treat.”

Each pack includes two soft-baked chocolate cake bars that are topped with peanut butter and then evenly covered in milk chocolate.

Reese’s came up with the idea after learning that a whopping 83% of adults in the U.S opt for a little something sweet before noon, the press release noted.

"We wanted to create the perfect treat for Reese’s fans to satisfy that mid-morning sweet tooth,” said Mike Orr, Snacks Brand Manager for Reese's in a press release. “We know that sometimes you just don’t want to wait until lunch – that’s how Reese’s Snack Cakes were born!”

“Now you can indulge in a Reese’s treat any time of day. Consider morning officially saved. #NotSorry,” the statement said.

The snack cakes will be available nationwide for just $1.99. However, you have to wait until December to get your hands on the treats.

On the plus side, Hershey’s is adding some new flavors to the Halloween mix.

"Halloween isn't complete without a Reese's, KIT KAT® or Hershey's candy bar, but this year we have something brewing that will take the season to the next level," Hershey's said in a press release.

The main attraction is Reese's "Franken" Cup. While the classic flavor of chocolate and peanut butter will remain the same, the Halloween version will now come with a green creme bottom.

There will also be a KIT KAT® Witch's Brew, Hershey's Kisses Vampire chocolates, and Hershey's Cookies 'N' Crème Fangs.

These sound frighteningly delicious.
